Sherwood Hideaway sits on land which is part of the Thoresby Estate, owned by the Pierrepont family since 1630 it’s one of the four Heritage estates which formed ‘The Dukeries’.

Love the freedom at Sherwood Hideaway
Thoresby Park was laid out in the 17th century in a formal, geometric, Jacobean style, it’s subsequently been softened and rounded on the advice of Capability Brown and then Humphrey Repton, both of whom we must thank for the mature landscape that we now enjoy on park. In 2009 the Pierrepont family formed a joint venture with a luxury lodge developer to rejuvenate the former Ministry of Defence Proteus Park site… to give us The Sherwood Hideaway.
There are miles of countryside to explore surrounding the park, perfect for a leisurely walk or a more challenging hike. Or you can visit the quintessential market town of Newark, where you’ll find many historic attractions, including Newark Castle, the National Civil War Centre and the Air Museum. You can also visit the market where you’ll find lots of local produce or visit the high street where you’ll find lots of high street and independent shops to browse.
